Responsibilities
The landscape Installation Junior Designer/Sales Associate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to meeting with clients to discuss ideas and design concepts and working with the client to develop landscape plans, concepts and proposals to sell work. Project management of sold landscape projects from beginning through to completion. Handling client questions, complaints, service calls, etc. in a friendly and courteous, and professional manner. Putting together material lists, labor, and equipment needs and using this information to estimate costs and develop and proposals and budgets for clients. Present proposals and review landscape plans with clients. Hire and schedule subcontractors and inspect their work. Make sure the work is completed according to plan specifications and promptly. Ordering materials and following up on order so that materials arrive when needed and coordinate delivery with Landscape Installation Production Manager. Assist and coordinate in the scheduling of the work with Landscape Installation Production Manager and client. Participate and conduct a pre-construction meeting to review landscape plans and work order with Landscape Installation Production Manager, Landscape Installation Foreman and Technicians for each project. Visit the site on a regular basis to see that work is progressing satisfactorily according to plan, specifications and quality standards. Help with landscape installation if necessary. Meet with Landscape Installation Crew Foreman for daily progress reports. Follow up with the customer when the job is complete to discuss care and maintenance of new landscaping. Work with customers, fellow employees, subcontractors, and vendors in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
Qualifications
- BS degree in landscape architecture, horticulture or related field.
- Minimum of two years experience in landscape design field.
- Driver License
Knowledgeable in all aspects of landscape construction including blueprint reading, plant identification, plant installation, building materials, building techniques, equipment operations, etc. Competent in the newest computer aided design (CAD) technologies to aid design and productivity. Ability to work with various people and personalities in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. Ability to promote ideas and delegate responsibility. Organizational, sales, project management and design skills necessary.
Working Relationships
The landscape installation junior designer/sales associated will report directly to the landscape construction department manager and will supervise the landscape crew leader and crew.
